Weston Lee grew up in a small town of dogs and horses, dust and blue skies. Southern California, east of Los Angeles. In college, he studied art at Sonoma State University and at Cal State University, Fullerton. He completed his Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2021.

Classical realism has been an interest of Weston’s and an influence on his artwork for many years. With his interest in portraiture particularly, he has been inspired by Rembrandt, Bouguereau, and many of the 19th-century masters. Later his influences have included art nouveau, pop surrealism, and magic realism.

Before moving to Reno, he lived in a variety of places including San Francisco, California, Spokane, Washington, and for 3 years in an alternative community in Southwest England.

After many years of drawing and painting from observation, he left the observable world and has since been traveling in liminal spaces, invisible places.
